28th SFTE - EC


The 28th Society of Flight Test Engineers (SFTE) European Chapter Symposium will take place in Milano, Italy on September 13-15, 2017. This event is the premier forum dedicated to flight testing outside the U.S.A., bringing together professionals and researchers to discuss advances in the testing of flying vehicles and systems at large.

The 2017 edition of the SFTE EC Symposium will be held in conjunction with the 43rd European Rotorcraft Forum (ERF). The ERF is a main event for the world’s rotorcraft community, held every year since 1975.

Participants to the 28th SFTE EC Symposium will have reciprocal attendance access to the last three days of the 43rd ERF as part of their registration. SFTE EC attendees are invited to join also the ERF sessions for exciting papers on rotorcraft research, design, development, manufacturing, testing, operation.


Abstract Submission

Papers are solicited in all areas of Flight Testing. Contributions reflecting the theme of the Symposium, “Shaping the future of Flight Testing”, will be favoured. Abstracts should be submitted online at the ERF website (

The website offers the possibility to directly upload the author’s contribution. The abstract, in English with a length between 500 and 1000 words, must be submitted as a Portable Document File (pdf). The file must not exceed 750 kbytes. It is intended to print the abstracts of the selected papers for distribution during the Forum. After successful online submission the author will receive an automatically generated e-mail.

The Symposium Organisation will apply the rule: “no paper no podium”. If a clearance is needed, the author is responsible to obtain the relevant authorization before submitting the full paper. In case of questions, do not hesitate to contact the Forum Organisation.
